ARTISTIC PREMISE

praelocutio.exordium.prolusio begins from the premise that experimental practice is simultaneously productive, performative, and epistemic. Making, testing, activating, repairing, listening, observing, documenting, and revising do more than prepare an artwork for presentation: they generate knowledge about materials, systems, relations, environments, institutions, and perception.

The residency approaches prototypes, rehearsals, demonstrations, failures, and provisional configurations as sites of artistic inquiry. A prototype is not only an incomplete future object; it may function as an instrument for thought, a situation that renders assumptions perceptible, or an arrangement that reveals how a project distributes attention, labor, risk, access, authorship, and control.

Public presentation is not treated as the neutral display of a completed work, but as a technical, social, spatial, and interpretative event. It determines how, by whom, and under which protocols a project is encountered. Display, activation, mediation, documentation, maintenance, and audience relations are therefore integral artistic decisions.

The residency is attentive to practices situated between sound and object, performance and installation, computation and embodiment, research and production, instrument and interface, or individual authorship and collective process. Rather than resolving such tensions through classification, it treats them as productive fields of investigation.

Collaboration is understood as inquiry rather than merely a division of labor. Participants articulate what knowledge their projects require, which competencies remain unrecognized, where responsibilities lie, and how decisions may be negotiated without erasing difference. The aim is not compulsory consensus, but precise, reciprocal, accountable exchange.
